Bitcoin with Leverage

This is a quick and dirty early analysis that neglects the cost of leverage. I just wanted to get an idea as to whether this is even worth looking into. I recently became aware of BITX a 2X Bitcoin futures strategy and that Robinhood has generous margin requirements for BITO a 1X Bitcoin futures strategy. So this is a quick look at using leverage and investing in Bitcoin in the past.

Clearly buy and hold leverage in a an asset with such volatility is likely a terrible idea. It is impossible to know what will happen in the future, but I do like the idea of freeing up funds to invest in other things etc. when needed. Using either of the simple moving average models above had much better results when combined with leverage than investing in plain Bitcoin. Again this is before accounting for leverage costs which I will likely look into later. Either way this does look promising.
